This handle bar is a little rusted up, but can be easily fixed up. Both torx bolts that held this on came right off with no problems. The Papa Johns magnet was put on this jeep since before I even knew how to drive. For some weird reason I never removed it.

Here are a couple of nice pictures of most of the wires behind the dash. There were tons of broken connectors and cut wires. I guess that explains why I had two nonworking fuel gauges.

Even though I will most likely get an new wiring kit for the jeep, I decided to mark all the wires with masking tape to be on the safe side.
Here is another picture of the whole jeep with me sitting shotgun.
All the wires were very easy to disconnect. Removing the control knobs was the hard part. You can see in this picture that the front part of the knob just clips into the dash.
Here is the back of the dash and the control knobs.
To completely remove the knobs you have to disconnect the other end of them. This is the vent control. You can see how the wire is connected to the pin on the right side.
I had to remove this lock washer from the pin in order to remove the wire from it. As you can see I had a hard time removing this one.
Here is the vent control know after I removed it.
I took these next two pictures to remind myself what I will have to pick up at the hardware store when I reinstall the control knobs.

As I was working I pulled the ashtray out and notice the key to the spare tire lug nut. I looked everywhere for that damn thing and never thought the check the ashtray. I also found some money in there. I guess i can put that in the Jeep fund account!
Here are a couple more pictures of the key and what it is used for.
Removed the dash!! I will probably just remove all the gauges and the Papa Johns magnet off the dash later.

The next two pictures are of all the wires that I need to clean up. I guess this will be one of my next tasks.
Here is a shot of the wires to the steering column.
