Shocks and Engine Mount Removal

Today I removed the shocks and engine mounts.  I had soaked all the bolts in PB Blaster for a few days, so it was not that hard to remove all of this.

Here are a few pictures of the shocks and shock mounts before I removed them.

Front driver side.  The shock mounts are bolted onto the frame by three bolts.

These shock mounts are welded on the frame and are still in good shape.

Next, I removed the engine mounts.  These were both just bolted onto the frame.

Driver side.  You can see the three bolts holding the engine mount onto the frame.

Passenger side is set up the same.

  2. I have not found or even started looking for new shock mounts yet. I can't decided if I want to try and find some used replacement c7 mounts or get something else that might give me more shock travel. I have seen a lot of guys get the shock mounts off an 89 f-250. I might try that. I need to do more research on it. I probably won't get the mounts until I buy the new shocks and leaf springs.
