It has been a while since I have posted something on this due to a few things. I have been trying to get the frame sand blasted by this guy who works the same hours as I do. This means that I will have to take off work to get the frame over to him, but I just can't take off work right now. In the mean time I have ordered a few new parts to get ready for the welding and have also researched a good welder. The plan is to get the frame sandblasted then take it right on over to the welder to get a new cross member welded on, get new body-to-frame mounts welded on, and do a little patching on the rear of the frame that is a little rusted.
Here is a picture of me with the first part I have bought for this rebuild. Over the years of owning this jeep, I never thought that I would be all excited over a rear cross member. I picked this cross member up from 4Wheel Parts for about $90.
