Frame Rebuild

I got the frame all patched up and ready to go!!!

Cisco Built Rides finished my frame for me and also took a few pictures of the process.  Below are are series of the pictures that they took and also a few I took after I got the frame back.  You will notice a  I had them do all the welding on the frame for me which included patching some weak spots in the frame, replacing all the body-to-frame mounts, replacing the rear crossmember, and welding some stationary nuts in the frame that came loose.

This is right after it was sandblasted.

This is after they cut off the rear crossmember.  You can see the rust damage.  This all had to be fixed.

The rusted parts of the frame was cut off.  I think that old piece of steel was tack welded on to help with some measurements.

Due to how thin the metal got on that one section of the frame they built another piece of steel that will be welded to the inside of the frame

Here is a piece of the old frame that was cut off sitting next to the new peace that is replacing it.

The new piece of steel is tack welded on.

It was then welded completely and grind down smooth.

The new steel support was then added to the frame.  I'm hoping that this does not cause water to accumulate inside that frame and then rust right out.

The driver's side was in a little better shape but still had some rust issues that they fixed.

To help strengthen the frame they welded in some rebar.

After it was all finished they welded the rear crossmember onto the frame.

The next thing they worked on was all the body-to-frame mounts along the jeep.  There were eight of them that needed to be replaced due to bad rust.  You can see in the first picture how rusted out they were.  Instead of cutting the old mounts completely off, Cisco Built Rides just cut the front part of it off so that the original measurements and sizes were kept.  I think they did a great job!!

The two sections where the shock mounts were located on the frame was eaten up very bad by rust.  Cisco Built Rides cut the rusted sections out, supported them up by welding in rebar, then welded a plate back on to close the frame.

Here it is all finished up.  The only other thing Cisco Built Rides did for me, which they did not take any pictures, was weld in three of the welded in nuts to the inside of the frame.

Before I picked the frame up, Cisco Built Rides sprayed Ospho all over the frame for me.  This is the reason why it has a black looking color over the frame.  It is nice to have the frame back.  I'm ready to get this painted up!
