Cleaning The Frame

After bringing the frame home I noticed that there was a shit ton of sand and rusted pieces of metal still on the inside of the frame.  This all needed to be cleaned up.  When I first brought it home, I spent about 45 minutes with the air compressor spraying the sand out. (I did not get any pictures of this).  That got the bulk of the sand out, but I still needed to get more out and I figured the best way to do that would be with the shop vac.

I went by Lowes and picked up a eight foot long clear hose and an attachment that worked perfectly to hook the hose to it.

I stuck the hose in all the access points and vacuumed up all the left over sand.  This worked out great.  I was able to get almost every bit of the sand out of the frame.  I even pulled out an old mouse nest that was jammed in there.

After getting all the dirt, rusted metal pieces (which you can see on the floor), and sand out of the inside of the frame I took my grinder and grinded down most of the weld splatter.  Some of the splatter was from the welding job I just had done, but most of it was from the factory.  It looks like Jeep originally just slapped this frame together in 2 seconds.  I figured I might as well clean some of it up while I had the Jeep stripped down.
