My next step was removing the gas tank. This was not that hard minus one rusted bolt I got into a fight with. The tank is held onto the frame by three bolts in the front and four in the back. I used my car jack to support the tank while I took the bolts out. Once the bolts were out, I just lowered the jack and removed the tank......and yes, there is still gas in it.
